UTS LSS Brennan Program RASA Week 2021

May 17, 2021 @ 9:00 am May 21, 2021 @ 5:00 pm

In collaboration with the Brennan Justice and Leadership Program, the UTS LSS is proud to announce the annual Refugee and Asylum Seeker Awareness (RASA) Week initiative for 2021. Despite World Refugee Day being on the 20th June, the UTS LSS and Brennan Program want to dedicate a week to recognising and learning about the experiences of refugees and asylum seekers. To do this, we will be hosting a jam packed week filled with events with one common goal: to raise awareness and support for refugees and asylum seekers.

Below is a brief overview of the Week’s initiatives:

Wednesday 19th May: Watch Party to view episodes 1 and 2 of Stateless at 6:30pm in CB11.04.301
Thursday 20th May: Justice Talks 2021 #4: Refugee Justice ft. guest speaker Sara Dehm
Friday 21st May: Facebook awareness campaign launch on the Brennan Collective, sharing reflections on refugee justice by our Brennan members

Each of the three events is ROJ eligible.

Any proceeds from the Week will be donated to Parliament on King in Newtown. This organisation supports the refugee and asylum seeker community by providing work as chefs, whilst also supporting the homeless and those in need by offering free meals.
