Notice of Casual Vacancy

Nominations for the UTS Law Students’ Society By-Elections are now open for the positions of:

  • First Year Representative (Two positions available)
  • Disability Representative

How to Apply:

If you would like to apply, please send a Statement of Candidature to president@utslss.com and secretary@utslss.com by 10am on Friday, 15 March 2024. Any statements sent after this time will not be considered. 

You may apply for up to TWO positions in this by-election. Should you wish to apply for more than one, you may submit a statement for EACH position you are applying for. 

A Statement of Candidature for the roles is a statement that reflects:

  • Who you are (your full name, student number, student email address);
  • A picture of yourself (optional);
  • The position you are nominating yourself for;
  • Why you want the position that you are nominating yourself for;
  • Any experience that will assist you in the capacity of your nominated position;
  • What you will bring to the position during tenure if you are elected; and
  • What you will assist this Council in achieving if you are elected.

The formatting requirements for all Statements of Candidature are as follows:

  • No more than one A4 page;
  • Times New Roman;
  • Size 12 font;
  • 1.5 spacing;
  • Normal (2.54cm) margins;
  • Submitted in word format; and
  • Must include your full name, student number, student email address, and the nominated position.

The successful candidates will be notified at the conclusion of voting at the upcoming UTS LSS Council Meeting on Saturday, 16 March 2024.

UTS LSS Buddy Project 2024 Sign Ups NOW OPEN

Sign Ups are NOW OPEN to become a part of the UTS LSS Buddy Project as either a Junior or Senior Buddy! UTS LSS Buddy Project is an initiative which enables ‘Senior Buddies’ who have been through it all before, help guide their ‘Junior Buddies’ into the world of uni life at UTS with the inevitable creation of new friendships and mentors!

The UTS LSS will be facilitating Buddy Events throughout the year which are sure to be great fun for all Buddies to bond in small and large groups.

UTS LSS Ashurts Opens Commercial Law Moot 2024 Registration Now Open

Registrations for the 2024 UTS LSS Commercial Law Moot has officially OPENED! 

Whether you're a first-timer or have competed at junior or senior level, this is the best time to refine your Commercial law knowledge. 

The Moot will be taking place between Saturday 6 - Monday 8 April, with the Grand Final held on 10 April 2024.

Advice Writing involves the individual submission of advice for a client’s legal problem. This is a highly practical competition, replicating a skill needed by all lawyers in practice.

Registrations for the 2024 UTS LSS Commercial Law Moot has officially OPENED! 

Whether you're a first-timer or have competed at junior or senior level, this is the best time to refine your Commercial law knowledge.

Advice Writing involves the individual submission of advice for a client’s legal problem. This is a highly practical competition, replicating a skill needed by all lawyers in practice.

Sign Ups are NOW OPEN to become a part of the UTS LSS Buddy Project as either a Junior or Senior Buddy! UTS LSS Buddy Project is an initiative which enables ‘Senior Buddies’ who have been through it all before, help guide their ‘Junior Buddies’ into the world of uni life at UTS with the inevitable creation of new friendships and mentors!

Nominations for the UTS Law Students’ Society By-Elections are now open for the positions of:

  • First Year Representative (Two positions available)
  • Disability Representative

How to Apply:

If you would like to apply, please send a Statement of Candidature to president@utslss.com and secretary@utslss.com by 10am on Friday, 15 March 2024. Any statements sent after this time will not be considered. 

You may apply for up to TWO positions in this by-election. Should you wish to apply for more than one, you may submit a statement for EACH position you are applying for. 

A Statement of Candidature for the roles is a statement that reflects:

  • Who you are (your full name, student number, student email address);
  • A picture of yourself (optional);
  • The position you are nominating yourself for;
  • Why you want the position that you are nominating yourself for;
  • Any experience that will assist you in the capacity of your nominated position;
  • What you will bring to the position during tenure if you are elected; and
  • What you will assist this Council in achieving if you are elected.

The formatting requirements for all Statements of Candidature are as follows:

  • No more than one A4 page;
  • Times New Roman;
  • Size 12 font;
  • 1.5 spacing;
  • Normal (2.54cm) margins;
  • Submitted in word format; and

Nominations for the UTS Law Students’ Society By-Elections are now open for the positions of:

  • First Year Representative (Two positions available)
  • Disability Representative

How to Apply:

If you would like to apply, please send a Statement of Candidature to president@utslss.com and secretary@utslss.com by 10am on Friday, 15 March 2024. Any statements sent after this time will not be considered. 

You may apply for up to TWO positions in this by-election. Should you wish to apply for more than one, you may submit a statement for EACH position you are applying for. 

A Statement of Candidature for the roles is a statement that reflects:

  • Who you are (your full name, student number, student email address);
  • A picture of yourself (optional);
  • The position you are nominating yourself for;
  • Why you want the position that you are nominating yourself for;
  • Any experience that will assist you in the capacity of your nominated position;
  • What you will bring to the position during tenure if you are elected; and
  • What you will assist this Council in achieving if you are elected.

The formatting requirements for all Statements of Candidature are as follows:

  • No more than one A4 page;
  • Times New Roman;
  • Size 12 font;
  • 1.5 spacing;
  • Normal (2.54cm) margins;

UTS LSS Buddy Project is an initiative which enables ‘Senior Buddies’ who have been through it all before, help guide their ‘Junior Buddies’ into the world of uni life at UTS with the inevitable creation of new friendships and mentors!

The UTS LSS will be facilitating Buddy Events throughout the year which are sure to be great fun for all Buddies to bond in small and large groups.

Registrations for the 2024 UTS LSS Commercial Law Moot has officially OPENED! 

Whether you're a first-timer or have competed at junior or senior level, this is the best time to refine your Commercial law knowledge.

Advice Writing involves the individual submission of advice for a client’s legal problem. This is a highly practical competition, replicating a skill needed by all lawyers in practice.

  • First Year Representative (Two positions available)
  • Disability Representative

How to Apply:

If you would like to apply, please send a Statement of Candidature to president@utslss.com and secretary@utslss.com by 10am on Friday, 15 March 2024. Any statements sent after this time will not be considered. 

You may apply for up to TWO positions in this by-election. Should you wish to apply for more than one, you may submit a statement for EACH position you are applying for. 

A Statement of Candidature for the roles is a statement that reflects:

  • Who you are (your full name, student number, student email address);
  • A picture of yourself (optional);
  • The position you are nominating yourself for;
  • Why you want the position that you are nominating yourself for;
  • Any experience that will assist you in the capacity of your nominated position;
  • What you will bring to the position during tenure if you are elected; and
  • What you will assist this Council in achieving if you are elected.

The formatting requirements for all Statements of Candidature are as follows:

  • No more than one A4 page;
  • Times New Roman;
  • Size 12 font;
  • 1.5 spacing;
  • Normal (2.54cm) margins;

Nominations for the UTS Law Students’ Society By-Elections are now open for the positions of:

  • First Year Representative (Two positions available)
  • Disability Representative

How to Apply:

If you would like to apply, please send a Statement of Candidature to president@utslss.com and secretary@utslss.com by 10am on Friday, 15 March 2024. Any statements sent after this time will not be considered. 

You may apply for up to TWO positions in this by-election. Should you wish to apply for more than one, you may submit a statement for EACH position you are applying for. 

A Statement of Candidature for the roles is a statement that reflects:

  • Who you are (your full name, student number, student email address);
  • A picture of yourself (optional);
  • The position you are nominating yourself for;
  • Why you want the position that you are nominating yourself for;
  • Any experience that will assist you in the capacity of your nominated position;
  • What you will bring to the position during tenure if you are elected; and
  • What you will assist this Council in achieving if you are elected.

The formatting requirements for all Statements of Candidature are as follows:

  • No more than one A4 page;
  • Times New Roman;
  • Size 12 font;
  • 1.5 spacing;
  • Normal (2.54cm) margins;
  • Submitted in word format; and
  • Must include your full name, student number, student email address, and the nominated position.

UTS LSS Buddy Project is an initiative which enables ‘Senior Buddies’ who have been through it all before, help guide their ‘Junior Buddies’ into the world of uni life at UTS with the inevitable creation of new friendships and mentors!

The UTS LSS will be facilitating Buddy Events throughout the year which are sure to be great fun for all Buddies to bond in small and large groups.

Registrations for the 2024 UTS LSS Commercial Law Moot has officially OPENED! 

Whether you're a first-timer or have competed at junior or senior level, this is the best time to refine your Commercial law knowledge.

Advice Writing involves the individual submission of advice for a client’s legal problem. This is a highly practical competition, replicating a skill needed by all lawyers in practice.

Registrations for the 2024 UTS LSS Commercial Law Moot has officially OPENED! 

Whether you're a first-timer or have competed at junior or senior level, this is the best time to refine your Commercial law knowledge.

Advice Writing involves the individual submission of advice for a client’s legal problem. This is a highly practical competition, replicating a skill needed by all lawyers in practice.

UTS LSS Buddy Project is an initiative which enables ‘Senior Buddies’ who have been through it all before, help guide their ‘Junior Buddies’ into the world of uni life at UTS with the inevitable creation of new friendships and mentors!

  • First Year Representative (Two positions available)
  • Disability Representative

How to Apply:

If you would like to apply, please send a Statement of Candidature to president@utslss.com and secretary@utslss.com by 10am on Friday, 15 March 2024. Any statements sent after this time will not be considered. 

You may apply for up to TWO positions in this by-election. Should you wish to apply for more than one, you may submit a statement for EACH position you are applying for. 

A Statement of Candidature for the roles is a statement that reflects:

  • Who you are (your full name, student number, student email address);
  • A picture of yourself (optional);
  • The position you are nominating yourself for;
  • Why you want the position that you are nominating yourself for;
  • Any experience that will assist you in the capacity of your nominated position;
  • What you will bring to the position during tenure if you are elected; and
  • What you will assist this Council in achieving if you are elected.

The formatting requirements for all Statements of Candidature are as follows:

  • No more than one A4 page;
  • Times New Roman;
  • Size 12 font;
  • 1.5 spacing;
  • Normal (2.54cm) margins;
  • Submitted in word format; and

Nominations for the UTS Law Students’ Society By-Elections are now open for the positions of:

  • First Year Representative (Two positions available)
  • Disability Representative

How to Apply:

If you would like to apply, please send a Statement of Candidature to president@utslss.com and secretary@utslss.com by 10am on Friday, 15 March 2024. Any statements sent after this time will not be considered. 

You may apply for up to TWO positions in this by-election. Should you wish to apply for more than one, you may submit a statement for EACH position you are applying for. 

A Statement of Candidature for the roles is a statement that reflects:

  • Who you are (your full name, student number, student email address);
  • A picture of yourself (optional);
  • The position you are nominating yourself for;
  • Why you want the position that you are nominating yourself for;
  • Any experience that will assist you in the capacity of your nominated position;
  • What you will bring to the position during tenure if you are elected; and
  • What you will assist this Council in achieving if you are elected.

The formatting requirements for all Statements of Candidature are as follows:

  • No more than one A4 page;
  • Times New Roman;
  • Size 12 font;

  • Disability Representative

How to Apply:

If you would like to apply, please send a Statement of Candidature to president@utslss.com and secretary@utslss.com by 10am on Friday, 15 March 2024. Any statements sent after this time will not be considered. 

You may apply for up to TWO positions in this by-election. Should you wish to apply for more than one, you may submit a statement for EACH position you are applying for. 

A Statement of Candidature for the roles is a statement that reflects:

  • Who you are (your full name, student number, student email address);
  • A picture of yourself (optional);
  • The position you are nominating yourself for;
  • Why you want the position that you are nominating yourself for;
  • Any experience that will assist you in the capacity of your nominated position;
  • What you will bring to the position during tenure if you are elected; and
  • What you will assist this Council in achieving if you are elected.

The formatting requirements for all Statements of Candidature are as follows:

  • No more than one A4 page;
  • Times New Roman;
  • Size 12 font;
  • 1.5 spacing;

How to Apply:

If you would like to apply, please send a Statement of Candidature to president@utslss.com and secretary@utslss.com by 10am on Friday, 15 March 2024. Any statements sent after this time will not be considered. 

You may apply for up to TWO positions in this by-election. Should you wish to apply for more than one, you may submit a statement for EACH position you are applying for. 

A Statement of Candidature for the roles is a statement that reflects:

  • Who you are (your full name, student number, student email address);
  • A picture of yourself (optional);
  • The position you are nominating yourself for;
  • Why you want the position that you are nominating yourself for;
  • Any experience that will assist you in the capacity of your nominated position;
  • What you will bring to the position during tenure if you are elected; and
  • What you will assist this Council in achieving if you are elected.

UTS LSS Ashurts Opens Commercial Law Moot 2024 Registration Now Open

Registrations for the 2024 UTS LSS Commercial Law Moot has officially OPENED! 

Whether you're a first-timer or have competed at junior or senior level, this is the best time to refine your Commercial law knowledge. 

The Moot will be taking place between Saturday 6 - Monday 8 April, with the Grand Final held on 10 April 2024.

Advice Writing involves the individual submission of advice for a client’s legal problem. This is a highly practical competition, replicating a skill needed by all lawyers in practice.

Sign Ups are NOW OPEN to become a part of the UTS LSS Buddy Project as either a Junior or Senior Buddy! UTS LSS Buddy Project is an initiative which enables ‘Senior Buddies’ who have been through it all before, help guide their ‘Junior Buddies’ into the world of uni life at UTS with the inevitable creation of new friendships and mentors!

The UTS LSS will be facilitating Buddy Events throughout the year which are sure to be great fun for all Buddies to bond in small and large groups.

Nominations for the UTS Law Students’ Society By-Elections are now open for the positions of:

  • First Year Representative (Two positions available)
  • Disability Representative

How to Apply:

If you would like to apply, please send a Statement of Candidature to president@utslss.com and secretary@utslss.com by 10am on Friday, 15 March 2024. Any statements sent after this time will not be considered. 

You may apply for up to TWO positions in this by-election. Should you wish to apply for more than one, you may submit a statement for EACH position you are applying for. 

A Statement of Candidature for the roles is a statement that reflects:

  • Who you are (your full name, student number, student email address);
  • A picture of yourself (optional);
  • The position you are nominating yourself for;
  • Why you want the position that you are nominating yourself for;
  • Any experience that will assist you in the capacity of your nominated position;
  • What you will bring to the position during tenure if you are elected; and
  • What you will assist this Council in achieving if you are elected.

The formatting requirements for all Statements of Candidature are as follows:

  • No more than one A4 page;
  • Times New Roman;
  • Size 12 font;
  • 1.5 spacing;
  • Normal (2.54cm) margins;
  • Submitted in word format; and
  • Must include your full name, student number, student email address, and the nominated position.
