Welcome to the Activities Portfolio!
We are responsible for running a multitude of social and sporting events that help UTS Law Students maximise their university experience. The Activities portfolio recognises that studying a law degree can be overwhelming at times. Therefore, we aim to promote staying connected with others, taking a break from textbooks, having a boogie, and engaging in physical exercise outside of the classroom. Make sure to stay up-to-date with our social media and website announcements as there are many exciting events coming up this year that you do not want to miss!

The Activities Portfolio aims to support the social life of our student body through its events. With events that run throughout the academic year, UTS LSS social events have become widely popular and are a highlight for many. Whether you are looking for a night out, a reason to dress up, or a chance to put the textbooks down and catch up with your peers, there is a social event for you!
First Year Law Camp
What happens when you take 100 students to a private island for a weekend? If you’re a first year student, join us and find out! This unmissable weekend is jam packed with exciting activities, nightly parties, challenges, pranks, and a whole lot more that you’ll have to see to believe! All in all, First Year Law Camp is an invaluable experience in which you will emerge having made life-long friendships with your peers.

Start of Semester Events
Our Start of semester events are the perfect way to catch up with your friends after the break. Kickstart the Autumn session with the Start of semester party which we hold each year at one of Sydney’s most-loved venues. From Cargo Bar, to Bungalow 8, to Scary canary, join us with generous bartabs, professional DJ’s and Photographers, lively dance floors, and hundreds of your peers.
Kickstart our Spring session with a BBQ on alumni green, the perfect way to relax back into the semester. We’ll have music and food options for everyone, so join us between your classes to reignite your friendships and tell us all about your travels over the break.

An absolute must-attend for all first year law students looking to break the ice and make some friendships that will last throughout your degree and beyond! Come grab a drink with us and get to know the people you will share your law school journey with!

Law Cruise
Our annual Law Cruise is our showstopper event of the Autumn Session. It is always one of the most highly anticipated events on the UTS LSS social calendar. The event includes a 3-hour luxury harbour cruise accompanied by pizza and drinks, a professional photographer and DJ, and breathtaking harbour views. This event is certainly not one to miss!

Pub Golf
Looking for a night out at some of Sydney’s most famous pubs, complete with free drinks, hours of dancing and some friendly competition? Look no further! Pop your textbooks away, pick up a visor and some clubs, and swing your way through the CBD with us at our annual pub crawl!

Law Ball
Law Ball is the peak event of the UTS LSS Calendar. It is an absolute must-attend for all Law Students, with a decadent 3-course meal and free-flowing champagne at one of Sydney’s most luxurious venues.

Sports
The Activities Portfolio is dedicated to supporting the physical and mental wellbeing of our student members through physical activity and team sports. Looking for a way to kickstart your fitness journey? Re-discover a passion for team sport? Or simply get outside and enjoy some fresh air? You’ll find all of this and more with our sports events and initiatives.
Social Sport
Social sport is one of the best ways to have fun, meet new people and keep active! Whether you want to test your skills at an old high school sport or try a sport for the first time in a relaxed environment, social sport is a must for every student. The competitions run weekly at UTS in both Autumn and Spring Semesters, with a variety of sports on offer for you to try. From mixed netball, to futsal, to basketball, there’s something in it for everyone. No experience is required, just a can-do attitude! We hope to see you on the court or field soon.

Intervarsity Sports Day
The revival is here! It’s time for the UTS LSS to prove once and for all that we are just as strong on the field as we are in the classroom. Get involved and represent UTS as we challenge other law schools to some friendly competition across a range of sports. Channel your best team spirit and make some friends across different law schools which will last throughout your degree and beyond.

Kickstart
As part of the program, you will train in the exclusive UTS elite athletes gym, which is not available to general UTS gym goers. You will have a group session once a week with a personal trainer who will create a series of session plans to help you develop your strength, cardio and conditioning skills.

You’ve always wanted to do it but haven’t had a team to enjoy it with, so look no further! Whether you’re a running fanatic, or maybe just in it for the medal, throw on your favourite activewear and join us as we run/jog/walk our way to Bondi. Be a part of the 2025 UTS LSS Team so that you can officially say you smashed the City2Surf, then top it all off with some post-race celebrations.

Bubble Soccer
Bubble soccer is returning to our sports calendar this year and will be bigger and better than ever. This year, combined with our Autumn session start of semester BBQ, join us at Wentworth Park to battle your friends. It is hilarious to watch, fun to play, and a great way to start the semester!
